A Washington D.C. police officer hauls a female commuter off her bicycle and drags her along the street early September 27, 2002. The cyclist accidently turned into a street occupied by IMF protesters. At right, her boyfriend pleads with the officer to release her. This weekend marks the annual meeting of the World Bank and International Monetary Fund, an event that has been marked in recent years by thousands of protesters concerned about a variety of issues, ranging from the environment to human rights and the effects of globalization.
